1. Scope
These Terms govern use of the dbSlice website and its public materials. The software itself is licensed under the dbSlice End User License Agreement (EULA), which forms part of the purchase terms.
2. Seller and Merchant of Record
dbSlice is developed by THINWORK TECNOLOGIA DA INFORMACAO - LTDA, CNPJ 09.166.605/0001-21, Brazil. When checkout is provided by Paddle, Paddle is the authorized reseller and Merchant of Record and is responsible for processing payment, applicable taxes, invoices and checkout-related consumer obligations.
3. Product information
We aim to keep descriptions, compatibility and prices current. Database drivers, client software and network access required by a specific environment may be separate customer responsibilities. Confirm unusual or restricted configurations with support before purchase. Good practice recommends testing and validating any new version, workflow or automation in a non-production environment before applying it to PROD: outcomes can be affected by telematic (network/connectivity) conditions, unexpected data-conversion behavior between systems, infrastructure or equipment issues, and regional Windows configuration (locale, date/number formats), all of which are outside Thinwork's control. Thinwork support is available for guidance on these topics, and consulting hours can be arranged for hands-on assistance — reach out by email or through the support form.
4. Purchases
Each Desktop or Windows Server offer is a perpetual software license for one named user and one activated device, unless the checkout or a written commercial proposal states otherwise. It includes the graphical interface, CLI, and 12 months of updates and standard support. Optional maintenance after that period is not required to keep using the last eligible version.
5. Acceptable use
You may not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, distribute malicious code, or use its content in violation of law or third-party rights.
6. Intellectual property
dbSlice, its software, visual identity, documentation and website content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. No ownership is transferred through website access or software purchase.
The name dbSlice and the dbSlice pizza mascot logo are trademarks registered by Thinwork with the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). They may not be used without prior written permission, except to refer to the product truthfully.
The public content of this website (text, documentation, screenshots and examples) may be accessed by automated means, indexed by search engines, cited with a link to the source, and used by people and by artificial-intelligence systems to learn about dbSlice and to answer questions about it. This permission does not cover (a) using the content, the documentation, the screenshots or the software to reverse engineer, decompile, clone or reproduce dbSlice, or (b) copying the processes, methods, workflows and designs of the product described there to build a competing product or service. Content that is not public (license area, downloads protected by license, internal and support areas) is not covered and may not be accessed or collected. Copying the content in bulk to republish it elsewhere still requires prior written permission. This permission is also expressed in machine-readable form (robots.txt, llms.txt, the TDM Reservation Protocol and page metadata).
Third-party names and marks. dbSlice is an independent tool developed by Thinwork. It connects to the supported databases through drivers and connectors that their publishers or the community make freely available, and it claims no right over those products. Product, company and brand names, and any logo or image shown on this website, in the documentation or in the guides, belong to their respective owners. Thinwork refers to them in good faith and only descriptively, so that users and customers can easily recognize the well-known systems and market-leading solutions that dbSlice works with. Such references do not mean affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement in either direction. The use of each database remains subject to its publisher's license terms.
Thinwork cares about the integrity and the image of every brand and person it mentions, and asks for the same care for its own: please do not use the dbSlice name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement or partnership without prior written permission. Only the owner of a mark, or its legal representative, may request that a reference be corrected or removed: write to [email protected] with your identification and proof of that capacity, and we will respond promptly.
7. Availability and changes
Website content and product features may evolve. Material changes to purchased license rights will not be applied retroactively in a way that removes perpetual use of the last eligible version.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, neither Thinwork nor its suppliers are liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from website use. Mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Brazilian law, without excluding mandatory rights that apply in the customer's jurisdiction.
